Voyvoda

Voyvoda is a balkan band playing a mix of martial industrial, electronic and synthpop. For me, there really couldn't be a more perfect mixture of sounds. Brilliant and highly recommended.

Anna Gardeck - Bondage Women

Excellent industrial, thematically focusing on fetishism, female domination and bondage which makes this one of the most interesting releases in the genre that I have heard in quite some time. Highly recommended.

Old One - s/t

Here's some traditionally tinged doom with a few modern tweaks by a two-piece (drums, bass) from the US. Great fuzzed-out trad-doom riffs and some grooving bass solos. So grab a beer, sit back, relax, light one up, and enjoy the fuzz.

Siamese Twins - Demo (2011)

Here is a new band playing catchy post-punk with a gothic feel akin to The Cure. There is a shoegaze edge to the sound as well. One of the best demos I've heard this year, give it a listen.

Alrakis - Omega Cen

This is awesome. Atmospheric, ambient black metal dedicated to space, constellations and galaxies. Whoa. How could this not be incredible? Obviously for fans of Darkspace but I actually think this may be better.

Roses Never Fade - Fade To Black

Dark neo-folk project featuring members from multiple countries, including Dwid Hellion (Integrity), Thorsten Wilhelm, Mathew Shack, Nick Fiction, Stephanie VH, and Adami. This is surprisingly great, sitting somewhere between Death in June, Agalloch and :Of the Wand and the Moon:.

Nuit Noire - The Gigantic Hideout (2011)

New album of bizarre fairy worshipping black metal!

WE LOVE NIGHT AND FAIRIES
NOT YOUR ROTTING FLESH

Preterite - Pillar of Winds (2011)

Preterite is a collaboration between Geneviève Beaulieu (Menace Ruine) and James Hamilton. Expect nothing like Menace Ruine however, as this project is a mix of folk and psychadelic drone with Geneviève's unique voice being the clear centrepiece. Released on Handmade Birds, which seems to be a great label that is putting out some quality releases at the moment.

Carissa's Wierd - Tucson (2011)

How did I not know about this sooner?! 2 new songs from one of my favourite bands ever, Carissa's Wierd. Their first new recordings in over 7 years. These songs are so good. So good. As if they could have been anything less. Amazing.

Interment - Into The Crypts Of Blasphemy (2010)

There are so many bands nowadays ripping off the Entombed - Left Hand Path formula, but who can complain when its easily one of the best death metal albums of all time?! Here is another fine example, Interment deliver death metal old school swedish style, which is the best way! So if you don't like it, stop complaining poser and go back to your lifeless, boring, technical garbage! Hail old school Swedish death metal!

Stresscase - Cut Me Off (2011)

Fast and angry thrashcore/hardcore punk/powerviolence from LA. This shit rules and will probably blow up and be huge pretty soon (at least I am predicting) so get on it now!!!

Alaric - S/T 7" (2010)

Alaric is a deathrock band featuring members from UK Subs, Drain the Sky, The Enemies, Noothgrush and Dead and Gone. If you like this then you should also check out Funeral Parade, their demo is some more great gloomy punk, deathrock, post-punk type stuff - think of Rudimentary Peni, early Christian Death, etc.
