Adolf Butler - Holland (2011)
Adolf Butler are a sloppy, sludgy punk band from the Netherlands. They feature members of Malle Pietje & The Bimbo’s, The Devil’s Blood, Dominatör, Malkovich and Safe Swim.

Cara Neir - Stagnant Perceptions (2011)
Cara Neir are a black metal band taking influence from a range of different genres including crust, grindcore, grind and post-rock. With a description like that I would often dismiss them as "hipster garbage" without even listening, however I gave this band a shot and it has paid off. Excellent progressive and experimental black metal that actually works and where the different influences make sense and don't just feel like a whole lot of stuff jumbled together for the sake of it.
Magic Circle
Here are a couple of tracks from Magic Circle, a traditional doom metal band featuring members of Mind Eraser (thats what I've read anyway). The vocalist sounds a lot like Ozzy Osbourne and indeed the music isn't too far off Black Sabbath either. Fans of Pagan Altar, Trouble, Pentagram, Candlemass and of course Black Sabbath will love this sound. There was supposed to be an LP coming last year (?) but I can't find any information about it, so if you know anything I'd love to know. These are just 2 tracks from youtube that I've converted to mp3 for your listening convenience. Seriously awesome stuff, if you don't enjoy these songs then there is something wrong with you. Oh yeah, and they are playing Chaos in Tejas this year so check them out there, I know I will be.

Skin Like Iron / Nails Split (2012)
Skin Like Iron play melodic hardcore punk, not dissimilar to bands like Tragedy. Their side of this split stands out for me, stellar material and some of the best of this style. Nails play tough and heavy metallic-tinged hardcore punk including a few mosh-worthy breakdowns.

Voyvoda
Voyvoda is a balkan band playing a mix of martial industrial, electronic and synthpop. For me, there really couldn't be a more perfect mixture of sounds. Brilliant and highly recommended.
