Alpinist - Lichtlaerm

Here is the new Alpinist LP, released not too long ago. If you heard their LP before this, you'll know what to expect. This one may be even better, and that was one of my favourite releases from last year. Awesome melodic crust (think Tragedy, From Ashes Rise, Ekkaia, etc).

Cryptic Salve Band - Auld Rags

Punky, noisy, raw black metal for anyone that likes Bone Awl, Furdidurke, Garrotte, and all of that kind of stuff. This rip is split into tracks. It seems like noone listens to this, but you should.

Looks like Icarus liked to sail the Seven Seas as well as get high......

Another gem found online. Alas, I don't know much about these guys, but I do know that it is a collaborative album & that one of the folk responsible is Dominick Fernow (Prurient, Ash Pool, Hospital Records, etc.) as well as a slew of other talented musos & artists.

That said, do not expect lots of harsh noise. There is at times a wall of sound, but it is far less harsh than it is blissful & atmospheric. Think more of a spaced-out Swans or Neurosis and you might get the picture.

Without further ado, enjoy.

I hear the population of these insects is particularly dense in Radelaids & Can'bra....

If you liked the last post, and a fan of other great Aussie bands as Christbait, Grey Daturas, Agonhymn, etc, then there's a fair chance you'll like Bongmoth. Instrumental doom from Ballarat, Victoria, there's not too much I can find on these guys, save for what's up on their Myspace. As far as I can tell, they don't appear to be going anymore, but I could be wrong. I'd never heard of them before randomly finding this album elsewhere online.

I hope one day to find them playing a gig somewhere around Melbourne, but until then, I can only enjoy the fruits of their recording labour. It would be selfish of me to keep it all to myself, especially on such a nice day, so I bring it you.

Enjoy.

Some people call me STC....

Cos I'm a super tough cunt, yeah!

As it's a lovely Spring day, and I'm sitting here, after work, drinking beer, and enjoying some tunes, I felt it appropriate to post what I'm currently listening to. Here is a slab of bluesy, jam-rock from Melbourne's own Sons of The Ionian Sea. Formed from the ashes of Peeping Tom (not the Mike Patton project), these guys have continued somewhat with where PT left off. Continuing the blues-tinged jams and general all-round goodness. Never a band that dissapoints, if you liked the Sir Lord Baltimore album Mikk recently posted, chances are you'll dig this, too.

So sit back, crack a beer, and experience the genius.

Everyone Everywhere - S/T

I just fell in love with this band tonight. Fucking amazing. 90s emo sounding, listen if you like Mineral, American Football, The Appleseed Cast, Christie Front Drive, etc.
